Art
I am Genevieve Wanucha, a botanical artist in Seattle. My art depicts objects or scenes from nature that captured my eye during everyday experiences. Using pencils and watercolors, I try to create complex compositions and share the beauty and emotional qualities that I perceive in plant life.
A late-blooming artist, I got my start in my 30s while taking drawing and watercolor classes at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture, and through extensive self-teaching and exhibiting opportunities as a member of the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists.
Tea
My interest in art and gardens comes together in the art of tea making. I am currently developing and sharing tea workshops, primarily with the support of my UW job and in my position as project lead for the national award-winning garden, Maude's Garden at the UW Memory Hub. I also refined my idea by giving my friends kombucha (fermented tea) workshops. My tea workshops are educational, relaxing, creative, and social experiences.
Thank you!
